Classes
Our classes run on a few important principles:
1) The class size is kept small. This allows individual attention.
2) There is a vetting process. We require prospective students to meet with us first, to ensure that everyone in the group is professional and understands the studio rules.
3) Everybody who wants to perform during that class, does so. We've all been in those classes where we watch others go up and wait in vain for our time. Although theory is vital, acting is experiential in nature. You need to be able to do it to learn it.
4) Everybody is treated with respect and kindness.
Foundations of Camera
August 2026
This course introduces the Odyssey Studio approach to camera work. Many techniques, historically developed for large playhouses, are ill-suited for contemporary media. Foundations provides a fresh perspective on acting, focusing on camera and the intimacy it demands. We will explore this new vocabulary through targeted exercises and then apply it to contemporary television and film scripts.
Dates: Monday, August 10, and running for eight weeks until September 28th.
Time: 6-9pm.
Location: Odyssey Studio.
